Investing in Video Games – 3 Big Money Games for 2021
Did you ever play video games growing up? If so, listen up! It’s time to take a trip down memory lane as we discuss the opportunity around investing in video games.
Take a moment, and think back to your childhood….You’re cruising through 7th grade – eating a pudding pop – and playing Nintendo. You’ve saved the Princess in Super Mario Brothers. You crush all the evil warlords in Legend of Zelda. You’re unstoppable in Tecmo Bowl.
Long story short….you’re living your best freakin’ life. And best of all, today is your birthday – and everyone is coming. Your Grandma rolls up with a bunch of new Nintendo games for you – and you rip them open to see Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!
Sweeeeeet! It’s an awesome game – but guess what? You already have it. Your Mom bought it for you last week – as a reward for doing two pull ups in gym class (your new personal record). So, you take the game – still in the wrapper – and set it aside. Maybe you toss it into a box labeled “Little Jimmy’s Stuff” and sock it away in the back of your closet. Maybe your Grandma says she’ll return it to Toys R’ Us – but then gets caught up watching a Golden Girls marathon – and ends up forgetting.
Investing in Video Games – 3 Big Money Vintage Games for 2021
Long story short – you just might have some vintage Nintendo games sitting around in your attic somewhere – collecting dust – completely forgotten for all these years. If that’s the case, I have good news…these games could now be worth a freakin’ fortune. Below, I give you “3 Big Money Vintage Video Games for 2021.” And best of all, some of them don’t even need to be in the box.
Do you have these sitting around the house somewhere? Does Nanna have them in her attic? It’s time to get serious about investing in video games.
Game #1: Mike Tyson’s Punch Out!!
Developed and published by Nintendo in 1987, you were a little boxer from the Bronx named Little Mac, who made his way to face Mike Tyson by challenging a wide array of various opponents (remember King Hippo?!) Ready for this….

Game #2: Super Mario Brothers 3
Every vintage Super Mario Brothers game is hot – but Super Mario Brothers 3 took it to a whole new level. First released in October of 1988, brothers Mario and Luigi are still on the quest to save Princess Toadstool. But this time around, you’re introduced to a two-dimensional, side-scrolling platform – where Mario could fly (or float) with power-ups. The game originally retailed for $49.99. But, get ready to have your mind blown…

Game #3: Stadium Events
Next up on our investing in videos games list is Stadium Events. This game has an interesting backstory – which is why it’s so valuable – even out of the box. Here’s the scoop…
Stadium Events was first released by a company called Bandai in 1987. At the time, it was one of the only games available in America designed for use with a “Family Fun Fitness Mat,” which was a soft, plastic controller you walked, ran, and jumped on.
Realizing what a breakthrough this was, Nintendo quickly bought the rights to this game – and re-released it as WorldClass Track Meet and the Power Pad.
Because of the acquisition and re-branding, Nintendo pulled all the existing copies of Stadium Events off the shelves. It’s estimated that only 200 Stadium Events games had ever sold – which is why the original Stadium Events game is one of the most collectible Nintendo games of all time.
Check out this stroke of luck…
A man in Kansas was just about to donate some old games to Goodwill – which included a factory-sealed copy of Stadium Events. But a quick eBay search showed him what a goldmine he was sitting on. Turns out, this game became only the second known sealed copy in existence – and he sold it on eBay for $41,300.
Even if you find a game that’s out of the box, it’s still a winning lottery ticket. The game’s box is so hard to find – the box alone could sell for upwards of $10,000!

About Bryan Bottarelli
Whether it was selling the Star Wars figures he collected as a little boy for 50 times their value or using the $125 he made cutting grass to buy a Michael Jordan rookie card that he later sold for $1,500, it was always clear that Bryan Bottarelli was a born trader – possessing the unique ability to identify opportunities and leverage his investments.
Graduating with a business degree from the highly rated Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Bryan got his first job out of college trading stock options on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). There, he was mentored by one of the country’s top floor traders during the heart of the technology boom from 1999 to 2000 – trading in the crowded and lively Apple computer pit. Executing his trades in real time, Bryan learned to identify and implement some of his most powerful trading secrets… secrets that rarely find their way outside the CBOE to be used by individual traders.
Recognizing the true value of these methods, Bryan tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit and took a risk. He walked off the CBOE floor and launched his own independent trading research service called Bottarelli Research. From February 2006 to December 2018, Bryan gave his precise trading instructions to a small, elite group – most of whom have been followers ever since.
As a “play tactician,” Bryan uses his hands-on knowledge of floor trading to shape opportunities and chart formations into elegant, powerful and profitable recommendations. And by using the same hedging techniques taught by professional floor traders, Bryan is able to deliver his readers remarkable gain opportunities while strictly limiting their total risk.
Along the way, Bryan has developed a cumulative track record that could impress even the most successful hedge fund manager.
He now spends his days moderating one of the most elite trading research forums ever created: The War Room.
